J’ai entendu le pasteur d’une grande église dire à sa congrégation : ” Dieu vous déteste, Dieu est malade de vous, Dieu est frustré de vous, Dieu est las de vous. “
Et pourquoi Dieu est-il d’humeur si sombre ?
À cause de notre péché et de notre apathie. Jésus a traversé l’enfer pour nous, mais nous ne sommes même pas capables d’arriver à l’heure à l’église.
J’aimerais que les sermons de ce genre soient rares, mais ils ne le sont pas. Les manipulateurs religieux aiment effrayer ceux pour qui le Christ est mort, car ceux qui ont peur sont plus faciles à contrôler.
J’espère que vous n’entendez pas de tels messages.
La vérité est que Dieu vous aime comme un fou.
Il vous aime quand vous êtes en haut et il vous aime quand vous êtes en bas.
Il vous aime quand vous faites bien les choses et il vous aime quand vous faites mal les choses.
Que tu prêches la condamnation en chaire ou que tu la reçoives sur ton banc, il t’aime.
MAIS DIEU M’AIME-T-IL ENCORE QUAND JE PÈCHE ?
Oui ! Bien sûr ! Son amour ne s’arrête jamais. Il t’aime même quand tu pèches. Tu en as la preuve ? Voyez la croix :
La preuve de l’amour étonnant de Dieu est celle-ci : c’est alors que nous étions pécheurs que le Christ est mort pour nous. (Rom 5:8, Phillips)
Tu as besoin de fixer cela dans ton cœur. Dieu t’aime. Point final.
Que vous soyez dans la zone ou dans le caniveau, la seule constante sur laquelle vous pouvez compter est l’amour inébranlable de votre Père pour vous.
1 Corinthiens 13 donne l’une des meilleures descriptions de l’amour de Dieu.

COMMENT EST L’AMOUR DE DIEU ?
L’amour des hommes est frêle et faible, mais l’amour de votre Père dure à jamais (Ps 136). La vraie question n’est pas de savoir si Dieu vous aime, mais si vous connaissez et appréciez son amour.
Chacun d’entre nous a besoin des câlins de notre Père. Chacun d’entre nous a besoin d’un foyer où il est aimé pour ce qu’il est.
Si vous n’avez pas trouvé un foyer dans l’étreinte de votre Père, votre désir légitime d’amour et d’acceptation vous conduira vers des sources inférieures, comme une religion morte.
Ce qui est étrange dans ce sermon “Dieu te déteste”, c’est qu’il était présenté comme un message d’amour.
“Dieu vous aime, mais il vous déteste.”
Pourquoi les gens écoutent-ils de telles absurdités ? Parce qu’ils ont faim d’amour.
Si supporter la colère et la haine de Dieu est le prix de son amour, ils sont prêts à le payer. C’est une tragédie. Nous avons besoin d’amour, Dieu a de l’amour, mais entre lui et nous se tient le proxénète de la religion, qui prostitue l’amour de Dieu et nous fait payer ce qui est déjà à nous en Christ.
N’écoutez pas son discours commercial diabolique.
Ne le laissez pas vous dire que vos péchés font que Dieu vous refuse son amour.
Écoutez plutôt l’évangile de la grâce et de l’acceptation de Dieu :
Croyez-vous que quelqu’un va être capable d’enfoncer un coin entre nous et l’amour du Christ pour nous ? Il n’en est pas question ! Ni les problèmes, ni les temps difficiles, ni la haine, ni la faim, ni le fait d’être sans abri, ni les menaces d’intimidation, ni les coups bas, ni même les pires péchés énumérés dans les Écritures. Cela me fait mal au cœur de voir le manque d’unité dans le Corps du Christ aujourd’hui ici au Canada. C’est tellement triste. Avant, les institutions religieuses étaient autorisées à fonctionner, mais seulement selon les règles de César. Mais alors quand l’état l’avait. Même l’oppression catholique romaine et plus tard les règles d’oppression protestantes ont utilisé cela pour forcer les gens à entrer dans des églises gérées par l’État. Que ce soit à Rome, en France, en Angleterre ou en Amérique.

Maintenant que les gouvernements montrent leur vrai visage, nous voyons qu’ils sont anti-Christ et anti-églises.

Nous voyons maintenant les gouvernements mondiaux conspirer ensemble pour que ce soit un privilège et une illégalité pour les frères de se réunir ensemble. Et je n’inclus pas zoom ou facebook pour se réunir du tout. Comment pouvons-nous nous réunir sur le terrain de jeu du diable et les médias antisociaux ? Nous devons prendre nos repas ensemble et nous embrasser comme ils le faisaient dans l’église du premier siècle avant que Constantin ne fasse du christianisme un sans Christ.

J’ai été attristé de voir que l’assemblée de l’église que j’essayais de soutenir avait succombé à la peur du covid et avait fermé. Littéralement abandonnant l’assemblée à cause de la persécution des covides.

Lorsque ce verset a été écrit à l’époque d’Hébreux, c’était des gens comme vous et moi qui n’abandonnaient pas l’assemblée des frères mais étaient persécutés pour l’avoir fait.

Ce dimanche, je suis donc allé à la deuxième des deux églises de ma ville. Celle-ci avait encore un rassemblement de croyants. Et le pasteur a dit que nous n’avions pas de covidés dans cette église.

et ici nous avions un autre groupe d’environ vingt saints. L’autre église de l’assemblée de Dieu en avait à peu près autant aussi. Mais non, ils sont seulement en ligne et même le sermon de Pâques est en ligne. Cela brise le cœur de Dieu !

Et ce qui est encore pire, c’est qu’en ces temps de persécution covide, nous devrions être semblables et d’un seul esprit en Christ. Nous sommes un seul corps et où est l’unité aujourd’hui ?

Un frère a demandé si l’autre église était fermée. Ils ne le savaient même pas. Nous sommes si précieux en ces temps, nous devons nous unir et ne pas comparer les cas de covidités dans nos assemblées sœurs.

C’est ce que les dénominations ont provoqué. Aucune dénomination n’est de Dieu Dieu nous a donné la paix et l’unité dans un seul corps de Christ. et nous ne devrions jamais abandonner l’assemblée pour aucune raison !

This was written to the Jews when it was dangerous to become a Christian, before the Roman government made it into a “legal: religion. (for the state_……._)

But then when the state had it. Even the Roman Catholic oppression and later the Protestant oppresive rules used this to force people into churches run by the state. Whether it was Rome, France, England or Amerika.

Now that the goverments are showing their true colors we see that they are anti Christ and anti church.

Now we see the global governments conspiring together so that it is a priviledge and an illegal on now for the brothers to assemble together. And I do not inlcude zoom or facebook to be assembling at all. How can we assemble on the devils playground and anti social media? We need to eat meals together and kiss each other like they did in the First Century church did before Constantine made Christianity one without Christ.

I was saddened to see the assembly of the church I was trying to support had succumbed to the fear of covid and closed. Literally forsaking the assembly due to covid persecution.

Back when this verse was written in the times of Hebrews, it was people like you and me that would not forsake the assembly of the brothers but be persecuted for doing it.

SO this sunday i went the second of two churches in my town. THis one still had a gathering of believers. And the pastor said we have no covid in this church.

and here we had another group of about twenty saints. The other assembly of God church had about that many too. But no they are only on line and even the Easter sermon is on line. That breaks Gods heart!

And what else is worse is that in these times of covid persecution we should be like minded and of one spirit in Christ. We are one body and where it the unity today?

One brother asked if the other church was closed. They did not even know. We are so precious in these times we need to band together and not be comparing covid case in our sister assemblies.

This is what denomination has caused. No denomination is of God God gave us peace and unity in One Body of Christ. and we should never forsake the assembling of it for any reason!

We sin when we walk by sight rather than faith (Rom. 14:23). We may do it out of habit or ignorance. But when we set our minds on earthly things and indulge the lusts of the flesh we are acting out of character. We are no longer acting from our true identity as children of God.

The remedy is to renew your mind and realize that Christ is your life (Col 3:4). Learn to walk in the new way of the spirit and make no provision for the lusts of the flesh (Rom. 13:14).

(d) The working of God. Jesus was raised from the dead by the glorious might and power of God the Father (Rom. 6:4). The same mighty God who raised Jesus, has raised you to new life (Rom. 8:11).

With Jesus sending out his follower with the authority of MArk 16 and Luke recorded that the follower healed and produced miracles. Not just the big “Apostles” but little old believers like Annanias who healed the scales right off of Saul the Apostle Pauls eyes. We even can drink poison if it is forced in us and nothing happens. Paul shook a venomous serpent off when all thought he was a dead man.

So who dares contradict the words of Jesus himself:

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

“Unmerited Favor” par Joseph Prince

Avez-vous déjà remarqué que la sagesse du monde et l’ancienne alliance se ressemblent beaucoup ? Si vous faites le bien, vous obtenez le bien. Vous récoltez ce que vous avez semé. On récolte ce que l’on sème. Les deux perspectives prônent l’effort personnel. Les deux prêchent l’autodépendance et la récompense basée sur le mérite. En revanche, l’évangile de la grâce dit que tout tourne autour de Jésus. La grâce dit que c’est son effort, son mérite et sa justice qui comptent. Il n’est pas possible de mélanger ces deux perspectives : c’est son effort ou le mien, son mérite ou le mien.

Dans son best-seller de 2007, Destined to Reign, Joseph Prince a tracé une ligne claire entre l’évangile de la grâce et la concoction impie de la grâce et de la loi prêchée depuis l’époque des Galates. Dans son récent ouvrage intitulé Unmerited Favor, Joseph Prince s’appuie sur ce fondement de la grâce en exposant les conséquences d’une vie dépendante de soi ou de Jésus. L’idée de base de Prince est que si nous faisons confiance à Jésus pour le salut, nous devrions également lui faire confiance pour tout le reste. Qu’est-ce qui empêche la faveur imméritée de Dieu dans nos vies ? Selon M. Prince, le plus grand obstacle est notre propre confiance en nous-mêmes :

“Certains croyants ne l’expriment peut-être pas clairement, mais dans leur cœur, ils croient que sans Jésus, ils peuvent encore réussir. En croyant et en agissant ainsi, ils tombent du haut lieu de la grâce de Dieu (sa faveur non méritée) pour retomber dans la loi, pour essayer de mériter et de mériter le succès par leurs propres efforts.” (p.24)

C’est à la fois étonnant et évidemment vrai.

Comment se fait-il que nous fassions confiance à Jésus pour notre salut, nous pouvons même lui faire confiance pour notre guérison, mais nous ne lui faisons pas confiance pour notre réussite ? Nous travaillons comme des croyants à temps partiel. Nous nous disons que nous le faisons en son nom et pour sa gloire, mais notre éthique de travail est à 100% une pensée de l’ancienne alliance. Au fond de nous, nous croyons que le succès ne viendra que si nous faisons des sacrifices ou si nous consacrons des milliers d’heures. Bien sûr, nous remercions Jésus pour la croix, mais son travail n’a en fait aucune incidence sur notre travail. Nous nous efforçons et luttons comme tout le monde, en ignorant les avantages surnaturels qui sont les nôtres en Christ.

Jésus n’est pas seulement mort pour nous libérer de la malédiction de la loi. Il est également mort pour que nous puissions hériter des bénédictions d’Abraham. Comme le dit Prince,

“En Christ, vous êtes héritier du monde – de ses biens, de ses dotations, de ses richesses, de ses avantages et de ses plaisirs. Telle est la promesse que Dieu a faite à Abraham et à sa descendance. Ne vous en excusez pas. C’est votre héritage en Christ !” (p.230)

Là, certains d’entre vous pourraient penser que Prince prêche un évangile de “santé et de richesse”. Ce n’est pas le cas. Bien sûr, il a pas mal de choses à dire sur la prospérité, mais ce n’est pas son message principal. (De peur que vous ne soyez distraits, j’ai posté ailleurs mon résumé des enseignements de Joseph Prince sur la prospérité et le succès). Ce qu’il prêche dans Unmerited Favor est la dépendance complète et totale de Jésus pour tout.

Nous, chrétiens – et en particulier les pasteurs – avons tendance à être tellement pris par le travail du Seigneur que nous perdons notre concentration et nous nous épuisons. Nous savons que nous ne devrions pas le faire, mais nous le faisons quand même. Selon Prince, nous agissons ainsi par ignorance :

“Beaucoup de bons croyants, bien intentionnés et sincères, sont aujourd’hui vaincus par leur manque de connaissance de la nouvelle alliance et de tous les avantages que Jésus a achetés pour eux à la croix… C’est le manque de connaissance de ce que Jésus a accompli à la croix qui a privé de nombreux croyants de la jouissance de ces bons dons et avantages.” (p.95)

Je sais par expérience personnelle ce que c’est que de prêcher Marie tout en agissant comme Marthe. C’est probablement le cas de tous les pasteurs. Il suffit de regarder nos emplois du temps ! Si c’est votre cas, si vous êtes occupé au point d’être distrait, alors vous devez absolument lire Unmerited Favor. Prince y donne la raison la plus convaincante que j’aie jamais lue de ressembler davantage à Marie qu’à Marthe.

Jésus a dit : “Une seule chose est nécessaire”, c’est de s’asseoir à ses pieds et de le contempler. Pour beaucoup d’entre nous – et en particulier pour les pasteurs – la chose la plus difficile à faire est parfois de s’asseoir. Cela ressemble trop à du repos et comment pouvons-nous nous reposer quand il y a du travail à faire ? Alors nous nous asseyons juste une minute, puis nous replongeons dans la mentalité de l’ancienne alliance et les performances humaines.

Il y a quelques années, Dieu m’a parlé très clairement. Il m’a dit qu’il voulait que je “ne fasse rien”. C’était le mot le plus dur que j’aie jamais reçu. Dites-moi de fendre la mer Rouge et je m’y risquerai. Dites-moi de marcher sur l’eau et je le ferai ou je me noierai en essayant. Mais dites-moi de ne rien faire du tout, sauf me reposer, et je veux dire me reposer à long terme, vivre dans ce repos, rester dans ce repos – eh bien, c’est vraiment très difficile ! Cela ne vient pas naturellement.

Mais j’apprends que lorsque nous faisons de lui notre priorité, lorsque nous n’avons pas d’autre agenda que Jésus seul, le monde entier change autour de vous. Les problèmes s’inclinent. L’inspiration vient. Vous vous retrouvez à faire la bonne chose au bon moment et, oui, vous avez une augmentation reposante au lieu d’une augmentation stressante (parce qu’elle est basée Si je devais résumer la faveur non méritée en deux mots, ce serait : arrêtez d’essayer, comme dans, arrêtez d’essayer de réussir par vos propres forces, arrêtez d’essayer de gagner la faveur de Dieu, arrêtez d’essayer de faire en sorte que ça arrive, arrêtez de vous efforcer, arrêtez de lutter, et faites-lui confiance pour tout. Non sérieusement, vous devez vraiment, réellement arrêter parce que tant que vous continuez à faire confiance à votre propre effort, vous opérez en dehors de la grâce et vous maudissez votre travail. Plus vite tu arrêteras, mieux ce sera.

Ou si je devais résumer la faveur non méritée en un seul mot, ce serait recevoir. Vous ne pouvez pas recevoir pendant que vous essayez de faire en sorte que cela arrive. La grâce ne partage pas la scène avec l’effort humain. Si vous voulez profiter de la faveur non méritée de Dieu dans votre vie, arrêtez d’essayer et recevez simplement.

Prince ne nous appelle certainement pas à vivre des vies oisives et passives. Nos performances comptent toujours. Mais une performance efficace est fondée sur la révélation que nous avons été rendus justes par la foi. Une vie juste suit une croyance juste. J’avais espéré qu’il en dise plus sur la manière dont nous travaillons sous la grâce, mais peut-être cela sera-t-il pour le prochain livre.

Vous pouvez lire Unmerited Favor sans avoir d’abord lu Destined to Reign, mais je vous recommande de lire les deux dans l’ordre où ils ont été écrits. Si Destined to Reign traite de ce dont Jésus vous a libéré, Unmerited Favor traite de ce dont il vous a libéré. Dans Destined to Reign, Prince apparaît comme un prédicateur de l’Évangile qui fait autorité. Dans Unmerited Favor, il est plutôt un pasteur tendre. Les deux livres sont remarquables.

“Destiné à régner” par Joseph Prince

La vie est trop courte pour être gaspillée à lire de mauvais livres ou à se laisser distraire par une mauvaise doctrine. L’un de mes objectifs en tenant ce blog est de promouvoir de bons livres qui nous aident à comprendre notre position en Christ, qui déballent la bonté de Dieu qui nous est révélée par Jésus. À cette fin, je peux recommander vivement Destined to Reign de Joseph Prince.

Destined to Reign est la distillation de dix années de prédication de Joseph Prince à la New Creation Church de Singapour. La couverture peut vous donner l’impression qu’il s’agit d’une sorte de livre d’amélioration personnelle, mais ce n’est pas le cas. C’est un livre qui célèbre notre Grand Roi et tout ce qu’il a fait en notre nom.

Dans ce livre, Joseph Prince s’attaque au mélange de la loi et de la grâce qui perdure depuis l’époque des Galates. Il affirme que “même si la loi est sainte, juste et bonne, elle n’a pas le pouvoir de vous rendre saint, juste et bon” (p.16). Le but de la loi est de révéler notre besoin d’un Sauveur. Lorsque nous mélangeons la loi et la grâce, nous perdons les bénéfices des deux. Il note que les 10 commandements étaient cachés sous le propitiatoire, dans l’arche d’alliance. Ils n’étaient pas destinés à être vus par le public, mais aujourd’hui, nous les mettons sur des affiches et les accrochons dans nos églises et nos écoles du dimanche.

Cette pratique consistant à mélanger la loi et la grâce donne lieu à ce qu’il appelle un “christianisme schizophrénique”. Un chrétien schizophrène est celui qui dit :

“Parfois Dieu est en colère contre moi, parfois il est heureux avec moi. Parfois Il me bénit, parfois Il me maudit. Parfois Dieu prend soin de moi, parfois Il m’abandonne. Aujourd’hui, Il me fait prospérer, mais demain, Il peut me donner la pauvreté pour m’humilier. Aujourd’hui, Il me guérit, mais demain, Il peut me donner une maladie pour me donner une leçon. Aujourd’hui, Il me pardonne tous mes péchés. Demain, je serai responsable de mes péchés”. (p.37)

En d’autres termes, Dieu est bon, mais seulement parfois. Les personnes qui pensent ainsi vivent entre deux alliances. Ils ne divisent pas correctement la parole de la vérité. Ils vivent comme si la croix ne faisait aucune différence.

La clause principale de la nouvelle alliance, selon Prince, se trouve dans Hébreux 8:12 : “Car je pardonnerai leur méchanceté et ne me souviendrai plus de leurs péchés.” Les chrétiens sont parfaitement pardonnés. Il n’y a aucun péché dont le chrétien ne soit pas pardonné. Pourtant, de nombreux chrétiens vivent comme si cela n’était pas vrai. Ils donnent ou travaillent parce qu’ils pensent qu’ils doivent s’efforcer de rester pardonnés. Cela revient à dire que le paiement du sang de Jésus n’était pas suffisant.

Comme Paul, Joseph Prince s’oppose fermement à ce que la grâce soit mêlée à l’effort humain. Il affirme qu’il n’y a rien que nous puissions faire pour nous qualifier.

“C’est là le véritable ministère de tout enseignant ou prédicateur biblique de la nouvelle alliance – il cherche à vous dévoiler Jésus et à vous qualifier par le sang de Jésus. Il ne vient pas dévoiler vos fautes ou vous rappeler vos péchés pour vous empêcher d’entrer dans la présence de Dieu et de profiter de ses bénédictions. C’est ce que fait un prédicateur de l’ancienne alliance. ” (195)

Certains livres ne transmettent qu’une seule grande révélation, mais Destiné à régner couvre tout, du pardon à la foi en passant par la guérison et la communion. Inévitablement, il y a quelques répétitions, mais les leçons de la grâce ont probablement besoin d’être répétées. Beaucoup de bonnes questions sont soulevées dans le livre. Par exemple, “Dieu juge-t-il l’Amérique ?” Réponse : Non. L’Amérique et ses péchés ont déjà été jugés à la croix.

Bien que ce livre couvre un grand nombre de sujets, il s’agit surtout de Jésus et de la façon dont nous pouvons trouver Jésus à chaque page de la Bible. En étudiant les commentaires de Jésus sur le chemin d’Emmaüs, l’auteur explique que nous ne lisons pas la Bible pour savoir ce qu’il faut faire ou ne pas faire. Nous étudions la Bible pour voir tout ce qui est dit dans les Écritures concernant Jésus. Une grande force de Destined to Reign est la façon dont il révèle Jésus et la nouvelle alliance dans les éléments de l’ancienne alliance – les cinq holocaustes, l’arche d’alliance, etc. Vous ne regarderez plus jamais le Lévitique de la même manière.

En fait, j’ai acheté le livre de dévotion en premier et, chaque matin, je lutte contre la tentation de lire plus que le texte du jour. Two Religions: Works vs Blood

Travel around the world and you would be forgiven for thinking there are thousands of religions and belief-systems. In reality there are only two:

1. religion based on works of men
2. religion based on the blood of Jesus

People waste years studying different religions trying to figure out which one is best. But strip away all the packaging and it’s a simple choice: it’s either your works or his blood.

Still, dealing with simple choices has never been humanity’s strong point. Just look at the history of religion…

THE DUMMIES’ GUIDE TO RELIGION

From the time of Cain men have been trying to impress God with the fruits of their labor. And from the time of Cain God has been rejecting their offerings:

The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. (Gen 4:4-5)

Abel, you will recall, offered the firstborn of his flock while Cain brought a fruit basket. Why was Abel’s offering accepted while Cain’s was rejected?

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous…. (Heb 11:4 NKJV)

Both Cain and Abel had faith, but Abel’s faith led to a more excellent sacrifice. No doubt Abel learned from his parents how God had shed the blood of animals to hide their nakedness. By faith, Abel trusted that a blood sacrifice of this nature would make him pleasing to God and it did.

Abel’s faith was a response to what God had done, but Cain’s faith was in the work of his own hands. Abel considered what God had done, but Cain wanted God to look at what he had done.

Instead of adopting God’s definition of an acceptable sacrifice, he tried to forge his own religion and was rejected. Cain got angry and went into a sulk. Here’s what God said next:

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. (Gen 4:7)

Cain’s offering was paid for by the sweat of his brow and the toil of his hands. It was a costly sacrifice, but it was a useless and unacceptable one. God in his mercy pointed Cain in the right direction, but Cain didn’t repent. Instead he murdered his brother and the rest is history.

TWO BROTHERS, TWO RELIGIONS

Religion based on human effort was, and continues to be, unacceptable to God. You can toil and serve and bring costly sacrifices every day of your life and it will change your standing before him not one bit.

You cannot buy your salvation with acts of charity. You cannot bribe your way into the Book of Life with your acts of righteousness. Don’t get angry like Cain, just repent and put your faith in the blood sacrifice given by God.

Of course this does not mean you should go out and slaughter some poor sheep! The blood of animals does nothing to take away our sins (Heb 10:4).

Before the cross these things only had value because they pointed ahead to the blood of Jesus. We live after the cross. The Lamb of God has come and his one-time sacrifice was more than enough to account for all the sins of the world (Heb 9:26).

Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. (Jn 6:53).

Do you hunger and thirst for Christ and his righteousness? Or are you satisfied by the fruits of your own labor? Jesus made it plain that religion based on works leads to death. But faith in his blood leads to eternal life and favor with God.

TWO PREACHERS

Just as there are only two religions, there are two kinds of preacher; those who say we are qualified by works and those say we are qualified by the blood of Jesus. These two preachers may look the same, but their messages could not be more different. Consider the following 10 contrasts…

The Works-Preacher says, you have to do stuff to stay saved. Make a mistake and you’re lost for eternity.
The Blood-Preacher says, Jesus’ blood has obtained your eternal and complete redemption (Heb 9:12). Nothing can separate you from the love of God.

WP: Don’t touch! Don’t handle! Touch no unclean thing and be holy.
BP: You are sanctified by the blood of the covenant (Heb 10:29), that is, by Jesus’ blood (Lk 22:20). We separate ourselves from unclean things not to become holy but because we are already holy and what fellowship does light have with darkness?

WP: You have to overcome in life’s trials and dress yourself in white clothes, otherwise he will blot out your name.
BP: It’s not about you. Jesus is your victory! Wash your filthy self-righteous clothes in the cleansing blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14). Rejoice, because he promised to never blot out your name.

WP: Say your prayers and have a quiet time every day. If you don’t remain in him, he’ll lop you off and throw you into the fire.
BP: Jesus said, “Whoever drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him” (Jn 6:56). Your “remaining” has nothing to do with having a quiet time. God has reconciled you to himself through Christ. Your reconciliation is something he did, not you. When you apprehend who he is and how much he has already blessed you, a healthy appetite will motivate you to discover more of him in his word.

WP: Beware of sin! Stay away from sin and sinners!
BP: We are called to be Christ-conscious, not sin-conscious. His sacrifice did away with sin (Heb 9:26). We have been set free from our sin by his blood (Rev 1:5). Live free from fear and condemnation.

WP: When you sin, you need to confess to get forgiven again.
BP: You were forgiven 2000 years ago (Col 2:13). Your forgiveness is not based on confession, but his blood (Matt 26:28). His blood is a necessary and sufficient condition for your complete forgiveness (Heb 9 & 10).

WP: When you sin, you need to confess to get clean again.
BP: The blood of Jesus cleanses and keeps on cleansing you (1 John 1:7).

WP: Confession is good for clearing a guilty conscience. Ask the Holy Spirit to examine you and point out your shortcomings.
BP: The blood of Christ has cleansed your conscience so that we may be free to serve God (Heb 9:14). Because of Christ’s perfect sacrifice, the Holy Spirit chooses to remember your sins no more (Heb 10:17). He will only ever convict you of your righteousness in Christ (John 16:10).

WP: God is holy and lives in unapproachable light. Don’t even think about drawing near.
BP: You who were once far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ (Eph 2:13).

WP: No one can see the face of God and live. Better stay safe and hang back.
BP: “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled by the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” (Heb 10:19-22)

PASTOR CAIN VS PASTOR ABEL

Who are you listening to? Where is your faith? Is it in death-dealing works of religion? Or is it in the life-giving blood of Jesus Christ? Are you striving to earn God’s favor or are you resting in the finished work of the cross?

It makes no difference whether you’re Catholic or Protestant, Episcopalian, Baptist or a member of the Western Branch of American Reform Presbylutheranism.

If you are standing on the blood of Jesus, then you are completely forgiven, you are acceptable, and God’s favor rests on you!
