Word of God
The word of God is the way by which God makes himself and his will known.
The word of God or the word of the Lord can be conveyed via prophecies (1 Sam. 3:21, 2 Sam. 24:11, 1 Kgs. 14:18), dreams (Num. 12:6), visions (Gen. 15:1), the Law (Num. 36:5, Deu. 5:5, Is. 2:3), and angels (Luke 1:35). The word of God can also be communicated via the scriptures, a sermon, a song, a sonnet, and countless other ways. However, the primary way God reveals himself is through his Son.
Jesus is the Word of God made flesh (John 1:14, Rev. 19:13), and the exact radiance or representation of God the Father (Heb. 1:3). As someone once said, Jesus is God explaining himself to the human race. Jesus is God’s selfie.
In the new covenant, the Word of God has its clearest expression through the gospel of Jesus. “No one has seen the Father, except the One who is from God” (John 6:46). “No one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son reveals him” (Matt. 11:27). It is through Jesus alone that we encounter the true character of God. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me” (John 14:6).
God’s word is powerful, creative and sustains all things (2 Pet. 3:5). His word is the means by which the universe came into existence (Gen. 1:3, John 1:1). His word gives life to the dead (Eze. 37:4). His word is a lamp that guides us in the path of life (Ps. 119:105). God’s word always comes to pass (Is. 55:11).
The word of God is revealed in the word of the kingdom (Matt. 13:19) or the word of the Christ (Rom. 10:17). It is revealed in the gospel of Jesus (Mark 1:1) and the gospel of grace (Acts 20:24).
1Sa 3:21
And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
The word of the Lord was revealed to Samuel the prophet. When the Word of God is revealed, God will never let the words drop to the ground. This means the Word of God cannot be stopped.
1Ki 14:18
And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.
God revealed himself through His prophets
Num 12:6
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
Num 12:7
My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
Num 12:8
With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Gen 15:1
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, H4236 saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
God can speak His words to man in visions (in the ecstatic state) מַחֲזֶה maḥăzê
He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision H4236 of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
A trance is a vision not in sleep but a state of communion with God with the eyes open. A trance or Godly meditation in prayer.
Num 36:5
And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
The Word of God was revealed to Moses and Moses wrote what God revealed to him in visions, and speaking directly to moses by the holy spirit.
Isa 2:3
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
The Word or revelation of who God is was given to Moses and the prophets by the holy spirit and they wrote it down. Thus the Word of God was written in the Law.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Gabriel the angel and the other angels are messengers from God. The angels that rebeled are now demons and they to bring messages that are only lies. But the angels of God bring the word of God to man in special circumstances.
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
All through the Old testament God had to communicate to man in the flesh. Since Adam disobeyed God he lost the life of God the spirit, and only had his five senses of the fleshly organs.
Man could no longer communicate with God except by Gods grace, God spoke thorugh burning bushes, parting seas, men called to be prophets. All was a development or evolution of man being able to see and hear Gods Word.
The Old testament was only a glimpse of a small part of God. But gradually the times changes where man was ready to receive the full communication. The Son of God who was the total communication or Word of God in the flesh so that we now could see God in all His completeness in a Man ….Jesus.
Jhn 6:46
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
Rev 19:13
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Jhn 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus was the Word of God in the flesh as a man we could see.
2Pe 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Before man had glimpses but God continued to break through the hardness of fallen mans heart. God planned a Son of God, His seed to overcome the darkness of man. He had a plan from the beginning and it was Jesus the Son of God.
There were many faulty glimpses and types in the Old testament but all was culminated when the religious Jews needed a to be woken and God told them. Leave the Law and see my WORD JESUS!
Mat 17:3
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
Peter, James and John were taken to the mount of transfiguration to see that something even more important than the Law of Moses nad the word of the prophets was here.
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Thus it was evident they needed some more revelation
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
God showed them and us, that now we see God through Jesus. The full revelation of God’s Grace and Truth. Listen to Jesus.
And so I do we must list to the holy spirit which is Christ living in us. Every one who believes Him. We must look at all the Old testament through what Jesus said and did. He is the lens I look through when I try to understand Gods Word. Nothing is more important than the life of Jesus as a revelation of God!
One proof I look for in seeing if the translations of the Old testament are Canon or not is if they are quoted by Jesus in Matthew Mark Luke and John. If the are there is no question. If not I put all the scripture at the feet of my Lord Jesus to show me. He can because He still does.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Jhn 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
And this Comforter is the gift of the holy spirit that HE did send on the day of Pentecost that same year.
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Manking was always limited by his own flesh since “Adam bit the apple” and God was working all things together to save mankind by Gods grace and mercy. All the killing and genocides. All the wars or Joshua. All that was God doing his best to show that God is love. When the times where right He was able to send His Son into the flesh world.
Even the prophets were limited by their own flesh and fleshly world around them.
But Grace broke through in the person of Jesus the real Word of God
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Finally Jesus Christ came to show what grace is. He showed the true character of God. HE revealed that Our Father is full of mercy and love. He came to live and give His whole life for us even to the death. But he also showed that there was super powerful glory to follow
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
Even the angels could not know and that was Good! Because if the princes of this world knew the Glory and Power to be given to mankind, then the devil would never have crucified Christ. In fact the devil would had offered (he did ) Jesus a promotion to be the chief of all the devil’s kingdoms.!
The mystery of Christ living in Eternal life in every Believer was hidden not by God. It was hidden from the time of Adams sinning by mankinds in ability to believe and see God!!
But all things did work together for those who love God and God is smarter than the devil! The devil can try to predict and he can try to program the future. But only God knows the future because He was already there! Things like the devil and death are temporary and have to go. Death and all dying things are bound by their own clocks and time is not their friend. But our God is Eternal and beyond time.
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Some people see this as only future tense for us. Someday we will see. But no I see it as God has revealed His Grace in Jesus Christ when He was born. It is past tense and is continuing. Now the Grace of the Gospel is being revealed more and more until thar perfect day when He returns to destroy all darkness.

God said to Peter James and John and to all who follow. Listen to Jesus He is the Word!
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount
We also are eye witness when we manifest the power of Christ in us with signs and miracles following preaching the Gospel of Gods Grace!
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
We have been taught that it is Sola Scriptura. Only the Word and only the KJV of it. What a “cunningly devised fable”! Is is rather Solus Christus! And we have the Christ living in us as the Comforter!
That is the the more sure word of prophecy! That is the Light! Granted Christ shines to us through many means and chiefly through the Scripture we have learned of Him. But He cannot be bound by any translation of it, since we do not have any perfect translation. But it we have believed in Jesus Christ it is always by the Grace of God and not the best Masoretic students! We have heard enough of Jesus and Him crucified and risen, then we have the more sure word of prophecy living in our hearts by Gods grace and not by some Phd in theology!
I think we can see Christ shine today and more and more until the perfect day he promises to return by the words
1Co 13:11
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
So you want the Word of God? It is JESUS! He is God’s heart and love expressed in Man.
He is the Word of God. He is not God but He is the revelation of God completely. The Logos created the universe for Him and for us. God the Word created the first creation with His words. God also created the second creation in Christ and will continue creating a NEW heaven and earth. By Christ who is in the world as His people and will return to complete the new creation sooner than you think.
