Act 5:14

And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

Act 5:15

Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Act 5:16

There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

I suspect that the world leaders were afraid of the competition. So when Rome and Constantine took control from Jesus as made their “Church” they made sure their false teachers taught the power of God was only for the first apostles sent. But Jesus taught signs and miracles would follow those who preach the gospel. We today are still apostles every Christian. Because we are all sent to preach the good news. The pharmacy companies would hate this to get our and especially the center for controlling your diseases. CDC!

Act 5:17

Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

There are always Satan’s servants at work. Here Satan worked with the “High priests” The Sadducees where the sell outs who sold out the true Jewish hope and religion for business and protection from the Roman governements shelter. Many false pastors are in bed with the government today. The tend to get riled when you speak the truth.

They were filled to capacity with indignation. The word is really Zelos and it means rivalry and jealousy. There was a Greek god or daimon called Zelos and it was not good. It personifies dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal.

Act 5:18

And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
Act 5:19

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

This was an angel or messenger from the Lord. It was a spirit being not am human messenger and they exist to minister to us! And to Us as part or Christ’s body. We do not pray to them but to God through Jesus, our head. He can direct and give back the revelation to command them if need be. As He could do it, so can we in His name.

Mat 26:53

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Jhn 14:12

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

This angel brought a direct message from God to them to encourage

Act 5:20

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

Go and continue “to pursue the journey on which one has entered, to continue on one’s journey” this is the deeper meaning of poreuō. And stand not fall. You have won the war so now we stand on that fact and we continue to stand even when the devil hurls his weapons of fear and threats! They bounce of the shield of faith and we continue to spread the gospel of peace. The good news of this life.

Act 5:21

And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

SO they obeyed the words from God and spoke. They let the holy spirit rip and that was their sword of the spirit! That was their weapon of love!

Yes God can produce miracles if we obey to preach the Good news we are in the will of God and are not stoppable because who can stop you when you are in God will. Who can stop God?

Act 5:24

Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

When you are in the devils kingdom like these ‘High priests” you are going to doubt and be perplexed until you come to the Light. 

Act 5:25

Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

What Boldness and lack of fear these apostles had! It was now the devils servants that had the fear of men. We need never have fear of men when we are acting inside Gods plan.

Act 5:26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

Remember what was the reaction to the followers of Christ in the previous chapter? When they were threatened with loss of limb and life, they went to God and casted their concerns on Him.

There is times to obey the government and that is Gods will. But when the government goes against the law of Christ which is love, we must disobey the empire and follow our King.

Act 4:24

And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

They had a prayer meeting and this is what they prayed. Not that they could have a vacation in Mexico or an easy boring life. Nope.

First they recognized that their Boss was the Creator of everything and had everything in control.

Act 4:25

Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

Jesus told us that most people will not be happy with you that you tell the truth, only the few that make it all worth it.

Act 4:26

The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

Act 4:27-28

For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Act 4:29

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

They asked for more life and more excitement. Not that the government would give them more freedom. Not that these evil leaders would stop even and things would be back to “normal” Nope. They prayed for more boldness so they could become the men and women of the hour!

Act 4:30

By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

And they prayed for the gift of holy spirit to work! That the Christ in them would produce powerful signs and wonders! And God always answers these kind of prayers

Act 4:31

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness

They answer came as they were filled to complete fullness. Full tanks and ready to go again. The Holy spirit of Christ in them spoke the word of God with boldness.  They spoke freely expressing the words Christ gave them. They spoke with no reservation, totally free, with no fear and only faith and hope. And in times of deception this is always the best weapon. Speak the truth with no fear.
